What competencies does the graduate have? During the studies, students learn to plan and carry out safe, adventurous educational processes for different target groups and to evaluate and develop adventurous educational activities. Students acquire the essential principles and practices of preventive work and promotion of well-being, and familiarize themselves with the different forms of action within communities and society. Students acquire pedagogical, social, technical, environmental and safety skills and are prepared for entrepreneurship. What kind of learning methods are used in the programme? The degree programme in outdoor and adventure education is offered as full-time day studies. The tuition is offered through diverse pedagogical methods e.g. contact teaching, online studies, individual assignments and group activities. The studies include working life-based assignments and projects as well as internships. Students are offered possibilities to complete parts of their studies in international exchange. What kind of career opportunities does the graduate have? Graduates of the programme can choose different career paths in different sectors of national and international working environments. Community educators with adventure education specialization can be employed e.g. in: · the field of youth work, · NGOs · education and training, · well-being services, · or nature- and adventure-based entrepreneurship.
