What competencies does the graduate have? A logistics engineer is able to view different businesses holistically. The graduate understands the essentials of both maritime and land transport and is able to plan logistics solutions and evaluate the effects of solutions from the perspective of both an individual company and the entire supply chain. The graduate understands how international supply chains and business networks produce customer-oriented services. A logistics engineer is able to search for information, carry out analyses and take decisions taking technical, economic and sustainable development aspects into account. In addition to professional expertise, the programme develops the ability to interact constructively with members of the work community, and to work in an international logistics environment. What kind of learning methods are used in the programme? Versatile teaching methods are used. The most important of these are online studies, work-based assignments and projects, information system and software exercises. Also, simulation games, lectures, company visits and internships are applied. Studies can also be completed in international student exchange. Multimodal implementations enable studying while working. What kind of career opportunities does the graduate have? Logistics engineers can work in a wide range of jobs in industry, trade, public administration and companies providing logistics services. Logistics experts are needed in organisations of all sizes and in all industries. The professional title can be, for example, procurement engineer, logistics manager, buyer, terminal manager, transport planner, production planner, freight forwarder or development engineer.
