This two-year programme provides interdisciplinary, in particular psychological and anthropological approaches to the understanding of human aggression, peace, mediation, and conflict resolution. It aims at understanding mechanisms behind conflicts and wars in interpersonal as well as group and international contexts. This programme encompasses teaching of the evolution of aggression, escalation of conflicts and wars, as well as mediation, negotiation, and peacebuilding. The consequences of wars on society, and especially on children and women, are studied. More detailed information about the programme is available on the programme website. The aim of the Master's Degree Programme in Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research is to prepare students for professional activity in both interpersonal and international conflict situations, but also for postgraduate studies and independent research work.
